Nameservers tell your domain name where to find your website and email services. If you are moving your website to a new hosting provider or using custom DNS, you may need to update your domain’s nameservers.
Changing nameservers is a common task and usually takes only a few minutes to complete.
You may need to update nameservers if:
You purchased hosting from a new provider
You are connecting your domain to a website builder
You are using Cloudflare or third-party DNS
Your hosting company gave you new nameserver details
You are transferring website management to another service
Make sure you have the correct nameservers from your hosting provider. They usually look like:
ns1.examplehost.comns2.examplehost.comSome providers may give more than two nameservers.
Log in to your Govaio client area
Go to Domains
Select the domain you want to manage
Click Manage Domain
Open the Nameservers section
Choose one of the following:
Use the current registrar default nameservers.
Enter the nameservers provided by your hosting provider.
Example:
ns1.yourhost.comns2.yourhost.comClick Save Changes
Nameserver changes usually update quickly, but global DNS propagation may take:
A few minutes to start
Up to 24 hours in most cases
Up to 48 hours in rare cases
During propagation, some visitors may see the old website while others see the new one.
Website and email may temporarily route to old servers during propagation
Make sure the new hosting account is active before changing nameservers
Incorrect nameservers can make your website unavailable
Double-check spelling before saving
You can verify changes by:
Checking the domain panel in your client area
Using WHOIS lookup tools
Using DNS checker websites
Possible reasons:
Invalid nameserver format
Domain is locked by registry
Temporary registrar sync issue
Possible reasons:
Hosting account not configured
DNS zone not created on new server
Propagation still in progress
