How to Change Nameservers ?

Nameservers tell your domain name where to find your website and email services. If you are moving your website to a new hosting provider or using custom DNS, you may need to update your domain’s nameservers.

Changing nameservers is a common task and usually takes only a few minutes to complete.


When You Need to Change Nameservers

You may need to update nameservers if:


Before You Start

Make sure you have the correct nameservers from your hosting provider. They usually look like:

ns1.examplehost.com
ns2.examplehost.com

Some providers may give more than two nameservers.


How to Change Nameservers at Govaio

  1. Log in to your Govaio client area

  2. Go to Domains

  3. Select the domain you want to manage

  4. Click Manage Domain

  5. Open the Nameservers section

  6. Choose one of the following:

Option 1: Use Default Nameservers

Use the current registrar default nameservers.

Option 2: Use Custom Nameservers

Enter the nameservers provided by your hosting provider.

Example:

ns1.yourhost.com
ns2.yourhost.com
  1. Click Save Changes
