Two-Factor Authentication for Domain Account ?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your domain account. Instead of relying only on a password, you must also verify your identity using a second method such as an authenticator app or one-time code.

This helps protect your domains, billing details, website services, and account access even if your password is compromised.

Why 2FA Is Important for Domain Accounts

Your domain account often controls:

If someone gains access, they may redirect your website or email. 2FA significantly reduces that risk.

How 2FA Works

Login requires two steps:

Something you know – your password
Something you have – phone/app/security code

Even if a password is stolen, the attacker usually cannot log in without the second factor.

Common 2FA Methods

Apps generate time-based codes every 30 seconds.

Examples include:

Email Code

A code is sent to your email address.

SMS Code

A code is sent by text message (less secure than app-based methods).

Security Key

Hardware keys provide stronger protection where supported.
