How to Enable Free SSL Certificate

An SSL certificate secures your website with HTTPS encryption and helps improve website security and SEO.

What is Free SSL?

Most hosting servers provide free SSL certificates through:

• AutoSSL

• Let’s Encrypt

• Sectigo SSL

Free SSL helps:

• Secure website data

• Display padlock icon in browser

• Protect login information

• Improve Google ranking

Step 1: Point Domain to Hosting

Before enabling SSL, ensure your domain is connected to your hosting server.

Example nameservers:

ns1.govaio.com
ns2.govaio.com

DNS propagation must complete before SSL installation.

Step 2: Log in to cPanel

Open:

https://yourdomain.com:2083

or:

https://my.govaio.com/login

Step 3: Open SSL/TLS Status

1. Go to the Security section

2. Click SSL/TLS Status

Step 4: Run AutoSSL

1. Select your domain

2. Click:

Run AutoSSL

The server will automatically:

• Validate domain ownership

• Install free SSL certificate

• Configure HTTPS

Step 5: Verify SSL Installation

Open your website:

https://yourdomain.com

You should now see:

• HTTPS enabled

• Secure padlock icon in browser

Force HTTPS Redirection (Recommended)

To automatically redirect visitors to HTTPS:

1. Open cPanel

2. Go to Domains

3. Enable:

Force HTTPS Redirect

• SSL installation may take a few minutes

• Wildcard domains may require additional DNS verification

• SSL renews automatically on most hosting servers
